802.11

I enjoy 802.11 networking. My favorite tool is Kismet. I use an IBM Thinkpad i Series Laptop with an ORiNOCO Silver which I have flashed to include 128 bit WEP and all 14 channels. Now I can catch all those illegal aliens using 12, 13 and 14 in North America!

After a peaceful wardrive, I take my Kismet dump file and run it through WEPAttack (projects page has my QNX 6.2.x patches) against a ~2GB word file (which I will have for download soon). I crack the majority of keys from the encrypted networks I find. After gathering the keys, I simply keep a listing of corresponding MAC address's, SSID's and the WEP key because I am such a data-pack-rat. So, if you want me to run your dumpfile, send me it.

I participate in the orinoco-users mailing-list, the Kismet mailing-list, I post on the forums at NetStumbler and WiFi Planet.
